Installation Art, Performance Art, and Laurie Anderson

                                                     -Installation Art-

Installation art uses sculpture material and media to make a particular working space to make something out of it. Installation art does not only take place in the gallery but in the public also. 

                                                     

                

  -Performance Art-

Performance art is when a single person or group performs on a stage in costumes. It can be any where, anytime, and can be 6 hours long. Performance art includes four simple elements the performer's body, time, space, and a relationship between the performer(s) and the audience. Performance art is different from other arts because a person or machine is doing the work unlike paintings or sculptures.

         

    

                                   -Laurie Anderson-

Laurie Anderson also known as Laura Phillips Anderson. She was born on June 5, 1947 in Gleyn Ellyn, Illinois. She is an American experimental performance artist and musician who plays the Violin and keyboards and sings a variety of experimental music and rock music. Laurie Anderson was trained as a sculpture and produced her first installation art in 190. Through the 1970's Laurie Anderson did a variety of different Performance art activities. She became famous out side the art world with her single "O Superman" that hit number two in the UK pop charts in 1981.

there were many powerful images. i liked it but it got boring after a while.. there should have been some words or something.. other than the boringness of it say  KOYAANISQATSI! the whole time it was really good. i would show this to my art class (if i had one)

The Divinge bell and Butterfly

i liked this movie a lot.. it was really sad how he became cripple at the peek of his career.

i didn't really understand the whole part when it showed us how he became cripple. he kind of just stopped the car and started to choke. it was a bit confusing but i could say that  liked the movie a lot.

i took this one a couple weeks ago on Feb. 1, 2009. I could not believe my eyes when i saw a fire in winter. So i just had to take a picture, but I only had my cell phone.

The Greyness

As a kid my favorite colors were purple and gray.
when i took this i felt like i was a kid again. Being purple with grey background. the purple makes it happy but the grey dims it down making it sad.

The Sunset

This picture brings out a lot of color. It has different shades of red and orange. It shows how a dead tree can bring out a lot of happiness.

A Sketch

When i am just sitting there i just think what would everything look like f it were drawn with pencil. So i made a self portrait and made it look like it was drawn.
