-Performance Art-
Performance art is when a single person or group performs on a stage in costumes. It can be any where, anytime, and can be 6 hours long. Performance art includes four simple elements the performer's body, time, space, and a relationship between the performer(s) and the audience. Performance art is different from other arts because a person or machine is doing the work unlike paintings or sculptures.

Laurie Anderson also known as Laura Phillips Anderson. She was born on June 5, 1947 in Gleyn Ellyn, Illinois. She is an American experimental performance artist and musician who plays the Violin and keyboards and sings a variety of experimental music and rock music. Laurie Anderson was trained as a sculpture and produced her first installation art in 190. Through the 1970's Laurie Anderson did a variety of different Performance art activities. She became famous out side the art world with her single "O Superman" that hit number two in the UK pop charts in 1981.
